I know your pain and I understand how an obsession such as this seems like the only way to see results fast. The restrictive dieting isn’t necessarily healthy or nutritious, but it can work if done safely and correctly. I’m not here to judge, so instead I’d like to give you some tips to be at your goal weight by the summer!
Disclaimer: this isn’t meant to be anti-super heavy girl, most tips work great for girls of any size!
1. Don’t talk to your parents about your progress. In your relationship is anything like mine, they will always be skeptical and that can kill motivation and confidence. Keep your goals to yourself.
2. Girls with high BMI’s who start with a restrictive diet like the ABC (or anything similar) will drop weight super fast at the start so DON’T WORKOUT HARD YET!! Do some squats and planks here and there, but save the heavy cardio for when you start to notice a plateau,, it’ll be less hard on your body than furthering your calorie restrictions.
3. Drink lemon ginger tea and black coffee: lemon and ginger and amazing for digestive health, and it’ll really catalyze the belly fat burning process. Black coffee helps settles the stomach when you have hunger pangs etc.
4. Drink lots of water, especially if you drink tea or coffee throughout the day. Carbohydrates are bound to water, so if you are restricting you need to stay extra hydrated.
5. Weight yourself after every meal or snack if you get the chance. Your weight will fluctuate a lot in the beginning so seeing the numbers will make you less eager to eat the food.
6. Busy yourself!! Makeup, nails, whatever.. whatever to get the emotional hunger cravings to pass because for us heavy girls, they get bad. And I mean BAD. Anytime you feel like you need sugar or you’ll go insane, take a look in the mirror and squeeze every bit of fat you hate. Squeeze it hard.
7. Check out thinspo. Ladies we have a long road until satisfaction, so until then look at your goals each time you get the chance. Save photos, keep in touch with your blog and soon enough it will become a dopamine rush just like your morning coffee.
8. Cigarettes and minty gum are always a great way to suppress your hunger between your meals. Make sure to keep it to yourself and keep good hygiene; only skinny smokers have the aesthetic that saves cigs’ grossness.
9. Eat zero to low calorie foods like celery and raw broccoli when you feel too hungry. As you chew the food make sure it’s completely pulverized before you swallow. Then drink as much water as you feel comfortable and count to 100 and you should feel bloated to the point where your too disgusted to eat any more food.
10. Treat ALL CARBS like a dessert. (Besides complex) any time you eat unhealthy carbs it spikes your blood sugar, which stores all the fat that you ate with your meal. Every time you decide to put pasta, bread, etc. in your mouth, treat it like it a big piece of birthday cake, because that’s basically what it is.
